Brocton Hall - Golf Day

'Wooden Spoon' is the RFU Children's Charity of Rugby and Staffordshire Rugby Union is incredibly proud to officially recognise its partnership with this incredible institution through the running of its recent first successful joint fund raising venture at Brocton Hall Golf Club. A donation of £2000 was generously raised on the day for CARE (Cannock Aqua Rural Enterprise) a local Young People's Charity based at Penkridge.
Thanks must go to SRU Past President Dave Ainge for exceptional organisation of the event and to Clare Arnold - Official SRU photographer - for recording the day and the very special visit to CARE where the presentation of the donation was made.

Trevor Jenkins - Wooden Spoon Staffordshire Representative commented on the day.....

"The event was a great success, and massive thanks go to Brocton Hall Golf Club,Committee, members and staff who were exceptional in their support on the day.

Also a big thankyou to all of the teams who took part and raised such a wonderful amount of money.

The money raised has already been put to fantastic use, helping our chosen recipients CARE in Penkridge to provide on site disabled toilet facilities.

Carol and Brad Parkes and the staff at CARE work selflessly to provide life changing support and education to children and young adults in Staffordshire, and as a result of our donation, their project will now reach many more.

The whole experience has been very positive, and my thanks go to Becky Davies and David Ainge who have throughout shown great passion for our aim of improving and enriching the lives of the disabled and disadvantaged youngsters of Staffordshire.

Thanks Staffs R U and may we have many more successes Spreading Smiles in Staffordshire
