MIXED ABILITY RUGBY: Stafford RUFC, with support from Worcester Warriors, have started a Mixed Ability rugby team.

The objective of mixed ability rugby is to engage people who have participation barriers which makes it difficult for them take part in sports.

These barriers may include learning difficulties, physical disabilities and age. Mixed ability rugby brings people together from any background or ability to engage in physical activity, socialise and meet new people on a regular basis.

Since forming earlier this year, the team have combined with other local sides, such as the Shropshire Stags to participate in a variety of matches at different grounds across the country.

The county trotting team have visited Six Ways (home of Worcester Warriors), Kingsholm Stadium (home of Gloucester), AJ Bell Stadium (home of Sale Sharks).

Members of the team have also received caps from Worcester Warriors for taking part in a representative England team against a Welsh opposition.

This Stafford team is for ALL abilities of adult males and it would be excellent if it evolved into a Staffordshire team.

So, if you would like a run out but are a bit too injured or too slow for any other level of play please come and have a go.

Players can choose to participate by taking full contact or elect to receive no contact, it’s personal choice. Sessions run on a Monday night at the club from 7pm.

If you know of anyone with or without any form of impairment who might like to have a go, please invite them along.

More information can be obtained from Steve Walker - speak to him at the club or email him at:

Hope to see you there!
