WILLENHALL RUFC – First XV Manager / Coach - Job Advertisement
Willenhall RUFC is based in South Staffordshire, founded in 1966 we are approaching our 50th anniversary in 2016.
We are currently in Midlands West (North) Division 3 having been relegated in the 2013/14 season. Prior to this we had been promoted as league champions and county cup winners.
We are looking to promotion back into Midlands west 2 This coming season..
To achieve this we require the immediate services of a First XV Team Manager, who through player development and a good coaching can help us achieve our ambitions.
Willenhall has always been a family orientated club which is reflected in our non-payment of player’s policy, which ensures that all monies generated by the club are put back into the club to provide players and members with training facilities, health care, social events and much more.
We run 3 senior teams and a veteran’s side. We will also be running a Colt’s side this season.
We are currently committed to the RFU All Schools programme which will provide or already successful junior section with a steady flow of new players over the next three years and beyond.
We have a growing number of volunteers, social members, sponsors and families that commit to the club. Members and players are all proud to part of Willenhall RUFC and we welcome anyone new to our club who shares this ethos.
Requirements of the successful candidate
Willenhall RUFC has ambitious plans to develop the club at all levels from 1st XV to Under 7’s
We are obtaining a massive help from the RFU for our junior section.
Our plan as a committee is to focus on senior rugby. We are advertising for the position of First XV manager to work with the committee and senior teams to support and attain our short term goal of promotion into Midlands 2 West in the 2015/16.
In the long term we are looking to, and believe that we have the ability, to reach and consolidate a position in Midlands 1
The position would be part time, with evening and weekend work involved. The contract would begin immediately.
We are looking for someone with strong leadership, motivational and communication skills, with experience of playing and coaching at a suitable senior level.
Develop a successful senior squad.
Develop team discipline and team spirit
Develop a playing strategy in line with committee expectations.
Arrange coaching / training sessions to meet strategy requirements
Sole responsibility for team selection and coaching.
Ensure the team is prepared and ready for the game.
We are looking for the person who has the leadership and vision to be a role model in installing strong leadership behaviours, contributing to club plans and lead the senior teams and coaches to deliver.
This person needs to instil commitment and enthusiasm in the team ensuring there is an ethos of high performance in every training session and game.
An excellent coaching background with minimum RFU Level 2 Certificate in coaching, with the personal drive to reach the next level. (Exceptional candidates will be assisted to reach level 2 and above if required.)
Experience in coaching rugby with a proven track record.
A demonstrative record of continual professional development.
