WOLVERHAMPTON win the Midlands Intermediate Cup Final

Wolverhampton won the Midlands Intermediate Cup Final 16-5. Local rivals Stourbridge Lions travelled the short journey up the A449 to Wolverhampton for the final of the Midlands RFU Intermediate Cup. Wolves looked to be favourites having comfortably won the two league fixtures between the sides this season but were wary that form and history can quite easily go out the window in the pressure of a cup final.

Victory in the Midlands final puts Wolves into the Semi-final of the RFU National cup. In two weeks’ time they will travel north to play winners of the North equivalent competition St Benedict’s of Whitehaven knowing a victory there will see them in the final of the National Cup to be played at Twickenham.
